New HCS Executive Committee members as two long-serving members step down
Huddersfield Civic Society treasurer Michael Barron and secretary Martin Kilburn have retired from their roles.
HCS President Bernard Ainsworth presented Michael and Martin with tokens of appreciation for their input into the work and initiatives undertaken on behalf of HCS members.
The presentation was at this year’s AGM and Design Awards on March 26, 2024.
Michael (below right pictured with Bernard) has been treasurer for 18 years and is moving to a new home in Nantwich with wife, Winifred.
Martin (below) will remain a local resident and will no doubt be watchful for any resumption of plans at Castle Hill to develop part of this unique hillfort site which the society has always strongly resisted.
With their departure AGM attendees supported the appointment of Geoff Hughes and Gideon Richards for taking on the roles of secretary and interim treasurer and welcomed new committee member, Amanda Boothroyd.
