Great series of guided walks so you can explore Huddersfield this summer

People have the chance to explore Huddersfield through a series of guided walks this summer.

The walks, organised by the Discover Huddersfield partnership, are all led by experts and give people the chance to explore the town’s heritage and culture.

More volunteers stepped forward to help following a recent appeal on Huddersfield Hub for extra helpers for the walks.

The first walk, ‘Exploring Marsden – The Growth of a Village’ is on Sunday, April 26, when Roger Logue from Marsden History Group will reveal its rich history, including Roman roads, packhorse trails, mills, child labour, the Luddites, poets and more.

Discover Huddersfield chair Vernon O’Reilly said: “As always, these walks are expected to prove popular and truly open people’s eyes to the rich and diverse heritage and culture of our fascinating area. Thanks to publicity in Huddersfield Hub we also have a number of new volunteers who provide vital support for our walks.’’

The walks’ programme 2026 leaflet is now being distributed to information points and libraries around the area or can be downloaded by going to https://discoverhuddersfield.uk/walks/
