Huddersfield Local History Society is a membership organisation for anyone interested in Huddersfield’s history and organises monthly talks from September to May, publishes monthly newsletters and also brings out an annual 75-page journal packed with in-depth local features such as growing up in the town in the 1950s and 60s.

Huddersfield and District Archaeology Society has been studying, exploring and recording the area’s archaeology since 1956, covering prehistoric times and the Roman and medieval periods up to more recent archaeology. The society holds monthly talks over the winter at Heritage Quay based at the University of Huddersfield.
