Twenty-one Huddersfield Civic Society members and friends enjoyed a sunny evening walking tour around this historic village.
Guided by Betty Taylor and enthusiastic volunteers from various local organisations, the evening began at the Providence Methodist Church on Knowl Road.
Ninety people attended this evening talk organised by Huddersfield Civic Society on Cleckheaton-born architect Peter Womersley. Attendees had travelled distances up to 100 miles and included members of the Modernists and The Twentieth Century Society.
Following his fascinating tour of Woodsome Hall in October 2022 Philip Sands presented a more detailed look at the key personalities who created and developed Woodsome Hall, its estate and its influence beyond.
More than 60 HCS members, university staff, students and guests met at Huddersfield University’s Oastler building on the evening of Tuesday, March 7, 2023, to attend this year’s HCS/University lecture titled ‘Retrofitting existing housing – Demystifying Net Zero’.
