Guided tour of Rochdale Town Hall: 1.30pm to 2.30pm on Sunday, May 10, 2026

Rochdale Town Hall is a Grade I listed building designed by William Crossland which opened in 1871 to symbolise Rochdale’s rich industrial standing in the textile trade.

Its ornate stylings and Victorian Gothic architecture are rivalled only by the Palace of Westminster, according to Historic England. The tour includes the Great Hall, The Old Council Chamber, The Exchange and many others.

Rochdale Town Hall began a period of extensive restoration in 2021 which is now complete and further information on this can be found at https://www.rochdaletownhall.co.uk/conservation/restoration

Rochdale Town Hall is fully accessible so lifts are available for visitors who want or need to use them.

We have 20 places available for a tour on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is £9 per person.

To register your interest please email Sylvia Johnson

We are trying to arrange for refreshments to be available after the tour (to pay for separately), so more information will follow.
