This planning application was granted on November 8, 2024 with conditions.

Huddersfield Civic Society comments:

• Although this is within the Edgerton Conservation Area there is no Heritage Assessment of any kind.

• The proposed housing designs conflict totally with the standards for the Conservation Area as per Kirklees Council’s Edgerton Conservation Area Appraisal document.
• Any new application of this size has to have a Biodiversity Net Gain submission. None has been supplied even though the site is rich in nature.
• Many of the house locations on the submitted plans cut across the public rights of way now on this site. As these houses cannot possibly be built across a row they cannot be granted permission

 Should there be a decision to proceed we ask that the S106 commitments be recalculated in terms of current Kirklees Council requirements.
